What is the DWP email address for complaints?

One of the main reasons why people wat to email the Department for Work & Pensions is in order to make a complaint. However, it is worth noting that, before you do this, you should first raise a complaint to the DWP via phone – this will be quicker, and also give them a chance to resolve the issue there and then. It has also been suggested that phoning is considered the first step in the process, and following this procedure is key to making sure your complaint is quickly and abley dealt with.

However, if you do need to make a complaint to the DWP over email, you do have options. These are split into various different regions, and you should email the region relating to where your complaint originated. The local team will pick up your email complaint, and move from there.

All email complaints to the following addresses should be titled Formal Complaint, with nothing else in the header. This will allow for it to be processed quickly. The complaint itself should be left to the body of the message, with a brief summary of why you are complaining put in the first line of the text, before further divulging what it is that has led you to raise this issue with the DWP over email.

Escalating DWP email complaints

If you have had a response from your regional team about the complaint and remain unhappy, you do have the option of escalating this to step 2. You can do this by emailing the DWP Director General’s email, which is Correspondence@dwp.gov.uk
